The Museum Repository is a building unique in the Baltics, with striking architecture. It meets the highest requirements for security and the storage of cultural and historical treasures. More than two million items from the National Museum Collection are stored, documented and restored in this complex.
Alongside the specialized storage areas, the building houses modern offices and administrative workspaces for four Latvian museums. For this project, the THOMSON Furniture team supplied functional and attractive office furniture solutions. They create a productive, comfortable and inspiring workplace for museum specialists and administrative staff.
When planning a modern office, employee well-being and productivity come first. The Museum Repository offices stand out for their tall, wide windows, which bring in natural light and offer views of the green Dzegužkalns hill.
To make the most of these spaces, the furniture was selected according to the following principles:
Ergonomics: Adjustable workstations that support employees’ physical health and comfort throughout the day.
Functionality: Furniture that is easy to reconfigure and works equally well for focused individual work and team meetings.
Acoustics: Smart zoning and furniture placement that keep the open-plan areas acoustically comfortable.
To meet high quality standards, the project brings together products from leading European manufacturers, known for their sustainability and excellent industrial design:
Lithuanian manufacturer Narbutas is represented with functional desk systems and well-designed storage solutions. The brand’s focus on clean design and high durability is a perfect match for the demands of the public sector and commercial environments.
Czech manufacturer LD Seating supplied premium task chairs. Their design and mechanisms provide optimal back support. These chairs help people stay productive and prevent fatigue during long working hours.
As a marketing and space planning partner, THOMSON Furniture always stresses the importance of sustainability. The selected furniture is made from recyclable, certified materials. Its classic look and neutral tones will not date as design trends change, so the office will still look current and well kept many years from now.
Creating offices and workspaces in a facility of national importance on this scale calls for great precision and a clear understanding of the processes involved. Working closely with the project management and designers, we created an environment that not only reflects the institution’s status but also serves as a comfortable and motivating tool for everyday work.
