The renovated and modernized ARS medical center building in Grīziņkalns, formerly known as the Red Cross Hospital, is now part of the ARS network. We furnished this healthcare facility with modern furniture that meets both functional and aesthetic requirements.
The project placed particular emphasis on practical, comfortable furniture. One of the key criteria was ergonomic design that keeps both medical staff and visitors comfortable and helps them feel at ease during longer stays. It was especially important that the furniture be easy to clean and meet hygiene requirements, making daily maintenance simple. We also made sure the furniture could adapt to users’ needs, so the space can be used efficiently for different scenarios and functions without compromising ease of use. This project is a great example of how well-chosen furniture can improve the working environment for doctors and create a pleasant atmosphere for patients.
The project combined standard and custom furniture solutions. Working with the creative team, we selected the most suitable furniture models and finishes for each room. The custom furniture was carefully tailored to the client’s needs, overseen by our custom furniture project coordinator team, who supervised every detail from design to installation. Custom-made furniture has unique qualities that let it stand out and fit perfectly into a specific space, creating an environment that is both visually appealing and functionally well thought out.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with SIA “Selva Būve”, which allowed every idea to be carried out in a coordinated way. The THOMSON team was actively involved at every stage of the process to ensure high quality and a result that matched the client’s needs. This partnership is a great example of how much can be achieved by combining experience, trust and a shared goal.
This project shows how high-quality, adaptable and sustainable furniture solutions can improve the working environment for doctors while creating a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. We believe these new spaces will help both staff and patients feel better.
